Civilian killed, 5 wounded in Baghdad blast

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A civilian man was killed and five others wounded in a car bomb blast in western Baghdad on Sunday, a local security source said. “A car bomb went off near al-Liqaa square in al-Mansour area, western Baghdad, leaving one civilian killed and five others wounded,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment,” he added. Earlier, a security source told IraqiNews.com that the chieftain of al-Bu Ulwan clan was killed in a blast from an improvised explosive device (IED) attached to his vehicle. An IED went off on Sunday morning inside a souk (outdoor market) near al-Nahda garage in central Baghdad, leaving three civilians wounded and causing severe damage to nearby stores. An IED attached to the vehicle of an intelligence officer went off in al-Salhiya complex garage in central Baghdad but left no casualties. AmR (P)/SR 2
