Kadhemiya blast leaves 9 killed, 36 wounded

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Sunday’s earlier car bomb blast in the northern Baghdad area of al-Kadhemiya left nine people killed and 36 others wounded, a security source said. “The casualties of the car bomb attack rose to nine deaths and 36 wounded in an initial count,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. Earlier, the same source had said that two car bombing blasts took place in Adan square, al-Kadhemiya, northern Baghdad, but there was no word on possible casualties or losses. A security source had told IraqiNews.com that the chieftain of al-Bu Ulwan clan was killed in a blast from an improvised explosive device (IED) attached to his vehicle. An IED went off on Sunday morning inside a souk (outdoor market) near al-Nahda garage in central Baghdad, leaving three civilians wounded and causing severe damage to nearby stores. An IED attached to the vehicle of an intelligence officer went off in al-Salhiya complex garage in central Baghdad but left no casualties. AmR (P)/SR 2
