Ranking Islamist gunman nabbed in Mosul

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi security forces arrested on Tuesday a high ranking member of the so-called Islamic State of Iraq. The Islamist gunman now in custody is responsible for assassinations and attacks with roadside bombs in Mosul city. “The arrest took place in the al-Sinaa neighborhood, central Mosul” a local security source told IraqiNews.com news agency. He explained that the operation relied on intelligence tip offs. “The gunman is wanted by the Iraqi judiciary for being responsible for assassinations and attacks with roadside bombs in Mosul,” the source added. He noted that the gunman surrendered to the attacking force without any resistance. Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. MH (P)/SR 1
