Traffic police officer killed in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A traffic police officer was killed when an improvised explosive device (IED) attached to his vehicle went off in central Baghdad on Saturday, a local security source said. “The IED went off on 52 street in the area of al-Karrada, central Baghdad, leaving the officer killed instantly,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The explosion also caused severe damage to the vehicle and other nearby vehicles,” he said.
