Anti-corruption official assassinated in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A leading member of Iraq’s Commission of Integrity was assassinated on the main highway leading to Baghdad‘s al-Muthanna Airport early on Sunday, a Baghdad security official said. “A group of armed men opened fire on Laith Muhannad, a high-ranking official of the Commission of Integrity, while driving his car on the main highway leading to western Baghdad‘s al-Muthanna Airport, instantly killing him and fleeing to an unknown place,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency.
