Basra police arrests 10 wanted persons, confiscates weaponry

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Southern Iraq’s Basra police have arrested ten wanted persons for different cases, confiscated a quantity of weapons and ammunition, during an assault and inspection in different areas of Basra Province, according to its media office on Sunday. “Our police forces have carried out 12 assault and inspection operations in different areas of Basra Province, arresting 10 wanted persons for different crimes,” the Basra media office statement, copy of which landed at IraqiNews.com news agency said. The statement added that the police had also confiscated a quantity of arms and ammunition during the said operations, but gave no further details. Basra, the center of the province carrying the same name, is 590 km to the south of Baghdad. SKH/SR 2
