French Agriculture & Environment House opens in Erbil by French Agriculture Minister

ERBIL / IraqiNews.com: Visiting French Trade Minister An Mary Idrak has opened here on Monday the French Agriculture & Environment House in Erbil, the capital of north Iraq‘s Kurdistan Region, with the presence of Kurdistan President, Massoud Barzani. “My visit for Kurdistan Region comes within commitments of (French) President Nicola Sarkozi during his meeting in Paris with Kurdistan Region’s President last June, and to open the French Agriculture & Environment House in Erbil, Iraq,” the Minister said during the opening celebration, attended by IraqiNews.com News Agency. She said “the House shall have two pavilions, the first governmental to help local central authorities in the field of training and different activities, whilst the second will help achieve cooperation between Iraq and Kurdistan companies in the field of agriculture, along with facilitating the export of technology and expertise from France to Kurdistan.” Iraq‘s Oil Minister, Hussein al-Shahristan, Trade Minister, Safuddin al-Safi, Agriculture Minister, Akram al-Hakim and Finance Minister, Bayan Jabur Solagh, had signed agreements with the French Minister Chairman of the Joint High Committee for the French Side, An Mari Idrak, planned for by the first meeting of the Joint Iraq-French Committee. On her part, the French Minister, authorized to conclude agreements with Iraq, said that the signing of the agreements “had registered an unprecidented incident in the history of European States, as Paris is considered the first European capital that concluded cooperation agreements with Iraq in different fields.
