CBI opens week with $116m sales

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) dollar sales went down in the beginning of this week to reach $116.185 million in its daily auction on Sunday at an exchange rate of 1,170 Iraqi dinars per dollar, compared to the previous session’s $139.461 million. “The demand hit $13.280 million in cash, covered at an exchange rate of 1,183 Iraqi dinars per dollar, and $102.905 million in foreign transfers outside the country, covered at an exchange rate of 1,179 Iraqi dinars per dollar,” according to a CBI news bulletin received by IraqiNews.com news agency. None of the 14 banks that participated in today’s session offered to sell dollars. The Central Bank of Iraq runs a daily auction from Sunday to Thursday. AmR (P) 2
