Finance Ministry completes 2023 draft federal budget law
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Minister of Finance, Taif Sami, announced on Sunday that 2023 draft federal budget law has been completed and sent to the Council of Ministers to be discussed, according to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Sami mentioned in a statement that the completion of the federal budget comes in light of exceptional circumstances the global economy witnesses, adding that 2023 budget aims to address the effects of international, regional and local economic challenges.
“2023 budget will focus on development priorities, support for the social protection network, and groups in dire need,” Sami clarified.
The Finance Minister noted that the new budget provides a safe cover for strategic and sustainable development projects.
“We worked over the past months to come up with a budget that responds to the needs of the Iraqi economy,” Sami stated.
Sami also confirmed that the new budget is consistent with the government’s approach for financial and economic reforms which the ministry tries to adhere to.
