Electricity Ministry receives 1st Japanese transformers shipment

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The first consignment of Japanese electric transformers have been received by the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity, whilst five other consignments would be received over the forthcoming two months, a Ministry’s media director said on Saturday. “The Electricity Ministry has received the first consignment of electric transformers – 132KV and 133KV, from the Japanese Toyota Company, being part of five other consignments to be received in the forthcoming two months, as part of the Ministry’s efforts to settle the electric power and its increase,” Mus’ab al-Mudarris told IraqiNews.com news agency, adding that “the price of the transformers were paid from the Japanese US$3.5 billions (b) Credit for Iraq.” He said the Ministry “shall build the Ukaz Gas Station in Anbar Province, with 120-megawatt power, comprising 4 gas units, each with 30 megawatt power, as well as the rehabilitation of the Musayab Steam Power Station, to cover two units that shall raise its production from 180 to 200 megawatt per unit.” SKH/SR 3
