11 projects worth ID21b adopted in Karbala

KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: Eleven projects worth 21 billion Iraqi dinars (roughly $17.8 million) were adopted and referred for implementation next year in al-Hindiya district, eastern Karbala, according to a local official on Sunday. “The local administration gave the thumbs up to 11 projects as part of the Provincial Development Budget (PDB) in al-Hindiya, (20 km) east of the city of Karbala, for implementation in 2011,” Hindiya Mayor Abbas Abad Abbas al-Shimari told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The projects envisage the construction of three new schools, power networks, pumping stations for heavy sewage water networks, the construction of a municipal building, the pavement of several rural roads up to 20 kilometers, the setting up of water networks in a number of villages of the district and the building a phone network,” Shimari added.
