2 wanted men captured in Karbala

KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: Security agencies on Sunday captured two wanted men on charges of involvement in kidnapping and murder, according to a local police spokesman in Karbala. “The two men, wanted by the Karradat Maryam police station in Baghdad, were arrested by personnel from the Karbala Anti-Crime Department on charges of kidnappings and murders in the Iraqi capital,” Maj. Alaa al-Ghanimi told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Intelligence tip-offs confirmed that the two men were in an area in Wassit province. A Department force was formed and managed to capture them,” he said. Ghanimi added that the detained men confessed during initial investigations with them to their responsibility for kidnappings and murders in Baghdad. Meanwhile, Ghanimi said the anti-narcotics department arrested a man on charges of dealing in psychotropics with 2700 pills seized in his possession. “Intelligence tip-offs held that the man was dealing in illegal psychotropic pills in the areas of Shohadaa Sayf Saad, al-Risala and al-Wafa’, south of Karbala city. The Shiite city of Karbala lies 108 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. AmR (P) 32
