KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Unidentified gunmen fired rockets while two wanted men were arrested in two separate incidents in Kirkuk on Sunday, according to a source from the city’s Joint Coordination Center. “Gunmen fired four rockets today in Kirkuk. One of the rockets was home-made and landed on the house of a local resident in the area of al-Jami’a, near al-Tal district, southern Kirkuk, but did not explode,” the JCC source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The landing spots of the other three rockets could not be known but police patrols and bomb squad and civil defense personnel seized the home-made launching pad in the same area,” he added. Meanwhile, Brig. Sarhad Qader, the director of the Kirkuk Districts Police Department (KDPD), said policemen captured two persons wanted in accordance with Article 4 of the law on terrorism at checkpoints between Kirkuk and al-Huweija district, (65 km) south of the city, and were referred to the anti-crime department for investigations.
