Civilian killed, 2 cops wounded in Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: A civilian man was killed and two policemen wounded in two separate incidents in Mosul city on Thursday, according to a police source in Ninewa. “Unidentified gunmen in a vehicle opened drive-by fire on a civilian on the main street in al-Qadissiya neighborhood, eastern Mosul, leaving him killed and escaping to an unknown place,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “In another incident, two policemen were wounded in an attack with a thermal bomb that targeted a police patrol on the 5th Bridge in western Mosul,” he added. “The assailants escaped and the two injured cops were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment,” the source said. Mosul, the capital city of the violence-ridden multi-ethnic province of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. AmR (P) 2
