Iraqi citizen killed in armed clashes in Sudan

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Sunday the death of an Iraqi citizen in the clashes in Sudan, the Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported.
“An Iraqi citizen was killed in the clashes in Sudan,” the spokesperson of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, Ahmed Al-Sahaf, mentioned in a statement.
Al-Sahaf also confirmed that 14 Iraqis have been evacuated from the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, to Port Sudan.
Many countries also announced the evacuation, or their intention to evacuate their nationals from Sudan, due to the ongoing conflict between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
The dispute between the Commander of the Sudanese Armed Forces, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and the Commander of the RSF, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, became clear to the public after the transitional period agreement was signed last December.
The agreement stipulated that the army would exit politics and handover the power to civilians. The dispute arose following the integration of the RSF into the Sudanese army.
The deployment of the RSF around the airport and base of Marawi, since last Wednesday, was the cause of the outbreak of the military conflict between the RSF and the Sudanese Armed Forces, when the Sudanese Armed Forces demanded the withdrawal of the RSF from Marawi within 24 hours.
The final political agreement to end the crisis in Sudan was scheduled to be signed on April 1, in addition to the constitutional document on April 6, but this did not happen due to disagreements between leaders of the armed forces and the leaders of the RSF regarding the timetable to integrate the RSF into the Sudanese Army.
