Local official survives life attempt in Ninewa

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: A member of a municipality council in Ninewa escaped an attempt on his life on Monday, a police source said. “A bomb, stuck to the vehicle of Khamis Mahmoud, a member of the municipality council of Hamam al-Alil district, south of Mosul, went off in front of the council,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The explosion damaged the vehicle, but without causing casualties,” he added. “A police force found an explosive belt in Zamar district, northwest of Mosul, and defused it,” the same source said.
