URGENT / Suicide attack kills, injures three people in central Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: One policeman was killed and a civilian and another policeman were wounded in a suicide explosion in central Mosul, according to a security source. “A suicide bomber, wearing an explosive belt strapped to his body, tried today (Sept. 24) to storm al-Nabi Shiet mosque in central Mosul to target civilians while performing the Friday Prayer,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency, noting that the mosque’s guards opened fire at him, detonating the explosive belt at the mosque’s gate, killing a cop and injuring a civilian and another cop. “The blast damaged the mosque wall,” he added.
