650 pilgrims arrive in Baghdad – Najaf Airports

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Airways, in cooperation with the Haj (pilgrimage) have began flying Iraqi pilgrims, who have completed their Haj (pilgrimage) in Saudi Arabian Muslim holy cities of Mecca and Medina, and 650 men and women pilgrims have landed in Baghdad and Najaf Airports. The Director of Flights Affairs in Iraq‘s Transport Minister’s office, Nasser al-Shibly, told IraqiNews.com news agency on Sunday that his Ministry had completed its preparations to transport the pilgrims from Mecca and Medina, when the first plane, carrying 420 pilgrims, had landed in Baghdad Airport and another aircraft, carrying 230 pilgrims had landed in Najaf Airport. “Our Ministry has laid down a plan to fly pilgrims in two flights daily to Iraq‘s airports, according to a timetable, in coordination with the Saudi authorities, security all services and buses to drive the pilgrims from the airports to their housing areas.
