Iraq’s PM: “Next phase to witness services, reconstruction, security”

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, on Thursday called for continuous action to overcome the differences of the past and to open a new page. Maliki called on the political blocs to nominate experienced personalities, in order to help with the formation of an active and efficient government, noting that “the motto of the new government’s session must be ‘the presentation of services, reconstruction and security protection.” Maliki reaffirmed the above ideas in a speech he delivered following his official assignment by President Jalal Talabani to chair the new cabinet. “I express my gratitude for your (Talabani’s) push to select me for the assignment of forming a government of national-partnership, through cooperation with politicians and other elements of the Iraqi people,” he said. “The current circumstances require the partnership and mobilization of everybody to overcome the current phase,” Maliki continued.
