Defense, Interior Ministries, not yet assigned – Legislature

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A leading legislature in the Iraqi National Alliance has said on Monday that Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, had been seriously trying to select efficient personalities for the cabinet posts in the new government among candidates of different political blocs, reiterating that the Defense and Interior Ministries had not been granted to anybody. “The ministerial posts have not been settled till now, and they are still subject for discussion and consultation, in order to reach the best candidates. The selection will be based on their vocational and efficiency levels, whether they were candidates of the National Alliance or any other political bloc, because such a decision would be reflected on his future government’s activity,” Legislature Ali al-Adib told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The cabinet posts have not been settled till now. They are still under discussion and consultation to reach the best choices,” Adib said. “The Ministries of Defense and Interior were not granted as the share of any bloc, but at least two independent national personalities shall be selected, to enjoy a high vocational background, whatever their party membership might be,” he added.
