Iraqi Academy for Fighting Corruption to open on Thursday

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: An Iraqi Academy for Fighting Corruption is scheduled to be opened in Baghdad on Thursday during a celebration of the International Day for the Fighting of Corruption, according to a media source from the Iraqi Integrity Commission on Wednesday. “The Integrity Commission shall celebrate tomorrow (Thursday) the International Day for Fighting Corruption, with a program to cover the opening of an Iraqi Academy for Fighting Corruption, under the auspices of Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki. The academy aims at training state employees and journalists, as well as anybody who has a relationship with fighting corruption in Iraq, in cooperation with the UN Development Programme,” the Commission’s media source told IraqiNews.com news agency. The Commission “shall also carry out several sports activities, along with presenting a theatrical show and a large march to start from Baghdad Governorate to the Ministry of Planning, to be launched by about 5,000 employees, journalists, lawyers and social society organizations,” he said. The source pointed out in conclusion that the Iraqi Integrity Commission “shall hold the annual conference of the Commission next Sunday on the main hall of the proposed Academy for Fighting Corruption, to discuss the administrative and legal researches related to the fighting of corruption.” SKH/SR 1
