Zebari, Iranian counterpart discuss bilateral ties

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari discussed with his Iranian counterpart Manouchehr Mottaki on Thursday bilateral relations in the economic sphere and the activities of the joint oilfields committee, according to a ministry press release. “Ministers Zebari and Mottaki met in New York and reviewed bilateral ties binding the two countries and the activities of ad hoc committees on ground and river borders,” read the release that was published on the ministry’s web site. “The two sides praised the constructive and positive cooperation as they also reviewed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on consular cooperation and exchange of visits between the two countries as well as international and regional developments and international sanctions imposed on the Islamic republic,” it noted.
