Basra’s local govt. lacks service, security programs – official

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: The Political Council of Basra accused the province’s local government of failure to come up with service and security programs two years after its appointment, according to a statement issued on Saturday. “The Political Council studied the activity of Basra‘s local government two years after its appointment and found out that its agenda is void of important projects providing service and security activities, read the statement as received by IraqiNews.com news agency. The Council also said that Basra‘s local government “was inactive,” demanding it to “set up service projects that cater to the needs of local residents in Basra“.
