Iraq’s National Coalition denies existence of difference regarding Interior Minister’s post:

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: The Legislature of the National Alliance, Mohammed Saadoun al-Seyhoud, has denied the existence of difference inside his Coalition towards the post of the Interior Minister in the new cabinet, scheduled to be announced by Prime Minister Designate, Nouri al-Maliki, within the forthcoming 24 hours, confirming that the Coalition would get 19 posts in the new cabinet. “The reason for the postponement of an accord over the new interior minister’s post is due to the major importance of the ministry on one side and necessity to select an independent personality among the persons, nominated by by different blocs that form the National Alliance on the other,” Seyhoud told IraqiNews.com news agency. Seyhoud also said that Prime Minister Designate, Nouri al-Maliki, would hold the Interior Minister‘s post on acting level, till the National Coalition agrees on an independent personality to hold the post. “The National Alliance is expected to hold 19 posts in the new Iraqi cabinet, in addition to the posts of vice-president and third deputy prime-minister,” Seyhoud added. Iraqi President, Jalal Talabani, had officially assigned Nouri al-Maliki on 25/11/2010 to form the new Iraqi government. Different Iraqi political blocs have been preoccupied to nominate their candidates for leading government posts, including the vice-presidents and deputy prime-ministers, along with the new cabinet posts, amid a serious competition to gain some leading posts, scheduled to be distributed according to the number of their parliament seats and the so-called “points system.” SKH 46
