Yazeedis to participate in census

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: The Supreme Spiritual Council of Yazeedis in the World called on Yazeedis in Iraq to actively participate in the country’s coming census on Oct. 24, 2010. “The census is a historic moment for all Iraqi components to prove their real size,” the council said in a statement as received by IraqiNews.com news agency on Thursday. It explained that the census will help Yazeedis prove their religion, unity, and Kurdish ethnicity. Yazeedis currently have seven lawmakers in the Iraqi House of Representatives; six of them are affiliated with the Kurdistan Alliance. MH (P)/SR 1
