Iraq’s soccer squad to play China for Asia championships

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi national soccer team resumes training sessions in the Kurdish city of Arbil to play China within preparations for the Asia Cup finals this month, according to the team’s goalkeepers coach on Sunday. “The team will resume its training in the northern Iraq city of Arbil as 22 players will be at hand after the Samarra club striker Hammadi Ahmed was summoned,” Abdulkareem Na’im told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The team is scheduled to leave for Amman on Sept. 16-19 to play two friendly games against Jordan,” he added.
