Soccer team off to China to play in Asian tournament

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s youth soccer team left for China on Sunday to play in the Asian tournament finals, to take place from October 3-17. The Iraqi delegation is led by member of Iraq’s Soccer Federation, Hadi Jawad, and includes dozens of federation members and soccer players. The Asian Soccer Finals, attended by 16 states, have been divided into four groups, the first comprising China, Thiland, Syria and Saudi Arabia, the second – Uzbekstan, Iraq, Bahrain and North Korea, the third – the UAE, Vietnam, Jordan and Japan, whilst the fourth comprises South Korea, Australia, Yemen and Iran. Iraq’s Youth Soccer Delegation is scheduled to launch its first game in the Asian Championship for under-19 youth against the Bahraini team on Sunday, October 3rd, whilst its second game will be launched against the North-Korean tem on October 5th and its third game against the Uzbek team on October 7th.
