Baghdad Lord-Mayor approves 350-donum “Water-City” Project
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Office of Baghdad’s Lord-Mayor has approved on Sunday an offer by a prominent investor to build a so-called “Water City” in north Baghdad’s al-Sabiyat district according to a statement by the Lord-Mayor’s office. “The Lord-Mayor’s office shall lay down the foundation stone for the Water-City during the forthcoming few weeks,” the statement, issued by Baghdad’s Lord-Mayor Saber al-Issawi said. “The higher committee for the main design of Baghdad City has approved the details presented by one of the investors to build the Water-City project in Sabiyat district, covering 350 donums,” he added “100 donums of the project have been allocated for an apartment-building, rising to 16-floors, along with 25 donums of villas,” he said, adding that the project “would be one of the most important welfare housing projects. The foundation stone will be laid during the forthcoming few weeks. SKH (P)/SR 1
