Million Shiite visitors in Karbala

KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: More than one million Shiite visitors have performed their Arafa visit in Karbala amid tight security measures, a member of the security committee of the Karbala council said on Tuesday. “More than one million Shiite pilgrims, including 15,000 Arab and foreign visitors, have flocked to Karbala since Monday night (Nov. 15) to perform the Arafa visit coinciding with the Arafa day in Saudi Arabia,” Sattar al-Ardawi told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The visit made by those who are not able to travel to the holy sites in Mecca,” he added.
