Father kills son, daughter-in-law over squabble in Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: A man and his wife were shot dead by his father after a squabble in northwestern Mosul city on Friday, according to a local police source in Ninewa province. “A young man had a squabble with his mother in Kirfer village, Zammar district, (80 km) northwestern Mosul, after which the man’s father opened fire from his rifle on his son and his 18-year-old daughter-in-law, killing them instantly,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The squabble erupted after family problems between the young man’s wife and mother,” the source said. He added that the police launched a probe into the incident as search for the runaway father is going on. Mosul, the capital city of the multi-ethnic unrest-stricken province of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. AmR (P) 37
