Groom jailed because of trigger-happy friends near Kut

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: The police detained a man who only sought to tie the knot after his friends and relatives fired guns in the air during his wedding party north of al-Kut city on Thursday, a local police source in Wassit province said. “Policemen arrested a groom in his wedding party in al-No’maniya district, (40 km) north of Kut, and put him in jail,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The police will release the groom after having him referred to the prosecutor,” he added.
