Four Anbar gunmen arrested under charges of killing religious clergimen – security men
ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: Four gunmen, charged with having been behind the killing of clergymen, Army and police men, in different parts of the Anbar Province , have been detained, an Anbar police source said on Monday. “Intelligence information have reported the detention of four demanded men, considered of being leaders of the so-called ‘ Iraq ’s Islamic State,’ under charges of being involved in killing clergymen and implementing assassinations of officers, Army and police men,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said the demanded men were detained in Anbar cities of Ramadi and Falluja without any resistance, during which 3 silencer-guns were discovered with the possession of one of the demanded men in Falluja. “The preliminary investigation has discovered that the said gunmen were involved in killing religious men and mosque preachers in Anbar, along with attacking checkpoints, Army and police patrols, as well as blowing up of explosive charges and tossing hand-grenades against their targets,” he added. The said source stressed that “the demanded men have been involved in carrying out 45 armed operations against civilians in different parts of Anbar Province over the past few weeks, along with having contacts with armed groups in Baghdad and other Iraqi provinces.” Falluja, the largest city of Anbar Province , is 60 km to the west of Ramadi, the center of Anbar Province , 110 km to the west of Baghdad .
