Two million trees planted in north Iraq’s Kurdistan
ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: A campaign to plant two million trees in north Iraq’s Kurdistan Region, launched by its government, had been completed, the Director of Forests & Gardening in Kurdistan’s Ministry of Agriculture said on Tuesday. “The campaign to plant two million trees in Iraqi Kurdistan Region, that began at the end of 2010, had been completed,” Hussein Hama Karim told IraqiNews.com news agency. He stressed that the “campaign had taken place to protect the environment in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region,” adding that specialized committees were formed to protect the planted trees. SKH (TP)/SR 335
