Significant demand on books in Arbil International Book Fair
ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: The 6 th Arbil International Book Fair, held in the city this week, has witnessed a significant demand by visitors, due to the presence of hundreds of thousands of book titles. “The 6 th Arbil International Book Fair has witnessed a significant demand and the sales had been very large till now,” Ali Bahsoun from the Lebanese al-Faraby Publishing House told IraqiNews.com news agency, saying: “this is the third year I share in the Fair and see that the Kurdish reader still looks for new editions.” The Iraqi al-Mada Cultural Organization, in cooperation with the Culture, Sports & Youth Ministry in Kurdistan Region, had began the establishment of the Arbil International Book Fair, with the participation of hundreds of Iraqi, Arab and foreign book publication houses, scheduled to continue for 10 days. On his part, the Chairman of the Arab Publication Federation’s Chairman, Mohammed Rashad, participating the Arbil Fair for the first time, said: “I see that the Fair’s organization had been very good and the number of visitors is large.” He said that a number of Arab Publication Houses from Egypt , Lebanon and Saudi Arabia , are attending the Fair this year. A citizen, called Ahmed Karim, who bought a number of Arab episodes, told IraqiNews.com: “I think that this Exhibition had given me the opportunity to buy a good book collection, where it is difficult to get in local bookshops.” “There is a good chance to visit the Fair and buy books, as it is difficult to look for them in the markets, but they are available here in Arabic, English, Kurdish and other languages,” he said.
