Kurdistan Region’s Parliament to discuss 2011 budget next Monday

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: The Parliament of north Iraq ’s Kurdistan Region has decided to discuss the Region’s 2011 general budget next Monday, the Parliament’s Media Advisor said on Saturday.   “The Region’s Parliament session, scheduled to convene next Monday, shall include the 2011 budget, following the end of its discussions by the specialized committees and its raising to the Parliament,” Tareq Jawhar said.   As regards to the possibility for the contribution of the Kurdish opposition blocs in the Parliament’s next session, Parliament Member for the opposition’s Goran (Change) bloc, Questan Mohammed, told IraqiNews.com news agency: “We have not decided to attend the said session till now, but we shall announce that on Sunday.”   Kurdistan’s three opposition blocs, Goran (Change) – 25 seats, the Islamic Union – 6 seats and the Islamic Group – 4 seats, have boycotted the Kurdistan Parliament’s session since weeks, demanding the holding of special sessions to discuss the crisis witnessed by the Region, following the demonstrations that took place in Sulaimaniya city on Feb.27 th last, that continued till April 19 th , before they were dispersed after the interference of Kurdish security and Peshmerga (Kurdish fighters) forces.   SKH (IT)   593
