Meetings to implement communications policies in Iraq

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: A joint meeting was held today between the Ministries of Communications in Kurdistan Region and Baghdad’s central government, with the attendance of Media and Communications Authority and Parliamentary Services and Re-construction Commission. The Minister of Communications and Transport in Kurdistan Anwar Jabali Shaboo told IraqiNews.com that “during this meeting good results were achieved regarding the problems facing the communications sector in Iraq.” “Tomorrow’s meeting will discuss the position of the Iraqi Communications Ministry,” he added. He pointed out that the main problem facing the region is the demand of Iraqi Media and Communications Authority from the cell companies on Iraqi level (Korek, Asia and Zain) not to be connected with the ground telephone network and cell phones permitted by Kurdish Region government. “We will find a solution to this problem with the Iraqi central ministry and authority,” he added.
