Iraqi Kurdistan Premier discusses U.S. support with U.S. Congress delegation.

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: North Iraq Kurdistan Region’s Premier, Barham Saleh, has discussed with visiting U.S. Congress delegation, led by Congressman John McCain, the withdrawal of the American forces from Kurdistan Region, a statement by Saleh’s office reported on Monday.   “Premier Saleh has received in Arbil on Sunday evening a U.S. Congress Delegation, comprising Senator John McCain, Senator Lindsey Graham, the U.S. Ambassador to Baghdad , James Jeffery, and the Commander of the U.S. Forces in Iraq , General Austin,” the statement said.   The Kurdistan Premier, the statement added, “discussed the possibility of U.S. support for Kurdistan Region and Iraq , after the withdrawal of the U.S. forces from Iraq ,” describing the American role in Kurdistan as “important and nucleus.”   “Both sides also discussed the recent political developments in Iraq and Kurdistan Region, and necessity to develop and boost the joint relations between both sides, as well as means for presenting best services for Iraqi citizens,” the statement confirmed.   The visiting American delegation, on its part, has expressed “rejoice for the current developments in Kurdistan Region, on all levels, thing that had become a symbol for development in Iraq ,” the statement concluded.   SKH (IT)
