2010 World Flight Award granted for Women Manager of Arbil International Airport
ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: The General Manager of north Iraq Kurdistan’s Arbil International Airport, Talar Faiq,, has been granted the “Award of Best Woman in the Field of Civil Aviation in 2010 in the Middle East, Africa and Asia,” during an exhibition and conference, held in the UAE on June 1 st and ended on Sunday, according to a news conference she held in Arbil on Monday. “I am very happy for having been granted the said Award, on behalf of a complete team of Arbil International Airport, who achieved a great progress over the past few months, that followed the inauguration of the Airport in September, 2010, which had witnessed an increasing number of passengers and luggage, whilst we are still striving to make our Airport the most busy airport in Iraq,” Faiq said in the news conference, attended by IraqiNews.com news agency. She pointed out to the “progress achieved, thanks to the serious activity by all Airport employees and the agencies, cooperating with them, who care that passengers enjoy best possible service in a safe and clean environment.” “There is a very small number of women, working in commissioning of airports; and I am happy that my efficiency has had a role in scoring such an award.. I have to admit that the said progress have been achieved, thanks to the support by the Kurdistan Region’s government, who assigned me with such a post,” she said, adding that “there is a lot more to do in Baghdad International Airport, if we wish to keep the progress achieved till now, but I’m confident that we can face future challenges and secure that our Airport will serve as a gate for Kurdistan and Iraq.” SKH (RT) 442
