About 30 Iranian soldiers, number of PJAK, killed in clashes in northern Iraq
Erbil / IraqiNews.com: About 30 Iranian soldiers and a number of anti-Tehran PJAK forces have been killed in clashes between both sides, close to the Iraqi borders with Iran in northern Iraq ’s Kurdistan Region, a military source said on Sunday.
“Strong clashes took place on (Sunday) morning on the Iraqi borders with Iran, in northern Iraq’s Kurdistan Region, killing about 30 Iranian soldiers and an unknown number of PJAK forces, opposing the Tehran regime,” the military source told IraqiNews.com news agency.
PJAK is an Iranian Kurdish Party, split from the Turkish Kurdistan Workers Party in 2004 and began armed struggle against the Iranian regime, aimed at achieving a Federal Kurdistan in Iran.
