Kadhim Al Sahir, Hussam Al Rassam, Naseer Shamma attend service for Karim Al-Iraqi
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Embassy in the UAE held a remembrance service for the late great poet, Karim Al-Iraqi, who passed away last Friday.
The famous Iraqi singer, Kadim Al Sahir, attended the ceremony that was held on Tuesday at the Intercontinental Hotel in Dubai.
Many other famous Iraqi artists, including Iraqi musician Naseer Shamma and Iraqi singer Hussam Al-Rassam, in addition to other actors and actresses, attended the ceremony.
The Iraqi Ambassador to the UAE and other diplomats attended the ceremony, which was dominated by an overwhelming sense of sadness, particularly after Iraq and the Arab world lost a great poet and writer.
UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed paid tribute to the poet on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter writing: “May God have mercy on the poet Karim Al Iraqi, who leaves behind a rich legacy of creativity. He had a relationship of mutual love and appreciation with the Emirates and its people over many years.”
“My deep condolences to his family and fans in Iraq, the Arab region, and the world,” the UAE President added.
Al-Iraqi died last Friday at the age of 68 after a long struggle with cancer while receiving treatment in a hospital in Abu Dhabi.
