 Iraq discusses boosting electricity output with Stellar Energy

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, highlighted the government’s interest in boosting electricity production during his meeting on Wednesday with the Chairman of Stellar Energy, Peter Gibson.

Al-Sudani emphasized that increasing the output of combined cycle power plants is one of the important goals for the Iraqi government, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

 Al-Sudani elaborated that electricity production is a crucial component of the government’s development program.

The Iraqi Prime Minister added that the government’s strategy involves providing additional facilities to companies engaged in the power and energy industries since this is an important sector on which other sectors rely.

Gibson reviewed the projects undertaken by Stellar Energy in the electricity sector.

Stellar Energy’s Chairman reaffirmed his company’s commitment to fulfilling its obligations in Iraq as well as its willingness to increase electricity production and enhance electric power transmission in line with the increasing demand for electricity.
