Prisoner, guard killed, 5 prisoners injured in Hilla Prison clashes

BABEL / IraqiNews.com: A prisoner and a guard have been killed on clashes that took place in west Iraq ’s Grand Hilla Prison on Firday night, along with 5 prisoners injured and 3 escaped prisoners arrested, Babel police source reported on Saturday.   “A Grand Hilla Prison guard has been killed, after a clash with a number of prisoners, who attacked the prison’s guards, captured their weapons and took them hostage,” the police source told IraqiNews.com news agency, adding that the ‘Scorpion Force,’ had interfered, killing a prisoner and wounding 5 others, along with freeing the guards.”   He said the number of escaped prisoners was not known, but three of them were arrested in streets, close to the prison,” adding that the venue of the prison was closed by armored cars, along with all roads leading to Hilla city, searching for the escaped prisoners.   The Grand Hilla Prison, 100 km to the south of Baghdad , had witnessed clashes between prisoners and prison guards on Friday night, whilst a curfew, imposed after the beginning of the clashes was lifted 04:00 AM local time.   SKH (IT) 632
