URGENT: Five civilians killed, 41 injured in booby-trapped blast in Hilla

BABEL / IraqiNews.com: At least 5 civilians have been killed and 41 others injured in a booby-trapped car blast in front of a popular restaurant south of the city of Hilla , the center of west Iraq ’s Babel Province on Wednesday, a Babel police source reported.   “A booby-trapped car has blown up at 08.30 am local time (05:30 gmt) Wednesday in Shomaly village, 50 km to the south of Hilla city, killing 5 citizens and wounding 41 others, as a preliminary result,” the police source told IraqiNews.com news agency.   The source gave no further details, but said the wounded persons were driven to hospitals by ambulance cars, whilst the security forces closed all the roads leading to the venue of the blast.   Hilla, the center of Babel Province , is 100 km to the south of Baghdad .   SKH (ST)
