Foreign Occupier must get out of Iraq soonest, Sadr says:

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Leader of the Shiite Sadrist Trend, Cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, has called on the Iraqi government, in a speech on Saturday in a large mass meeting in the holy city of Najaf, to “fulfil its promise and act for the urgent withdrawal of the Foreign Occupier from Iraq soonest.” “The Iraqi government must fulfil its commitment for the withdrawal of the foreign occupier from Iraq soonest,” Sadr said in his speech, adding that his Sadrist Trend “will suppport the government if it acts to serve the people, achieve security and seervices.” Sadr also called on the Iraqi government to “release thousands of Iraqi detainees, locked in American prisones, especially those belong to the Sadrist Trend.” Sadr had returned to Najaf last Wednesday, back from Iran, where he spend the past 3.5 my years, whilst his last appearance had been in a Friday speech in June, 2007.
