Egypt FM’s Baghdad visit aims to strengthen joint strategic partnership, official:

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Today’s scheduled visit of Egyptian Foreign Minister, Ahmed Abul-Gheit, who arrived in Baghdad on Sunday, aims at strengthening bilateral relations and to discuss the achievement of a strategic partnership between the two sisterly countries, Iraq’s Foreign Ministry Undersecretary, Lubeid Abbawi said. “Abul-Gheit shall meet Iraqi leaders, as well as Foreign Minister, Hoshiar Zibary, in the aim of strengthening bilateral relations and discussing the forthcoming session for stategic partnership between the two sisterly countries,” Abbawi told IraqiNews.com news agency. Abbawi said that the Egyptian Foreign Minister‘s visit “shall include a visit for Arbil, where he would hold a series of meetings with Leaders of north Iraq’s Kurdistan Region,” pointing out that “the Iraqi Foreign Ministry is carrying out preparations for preparing all the prerequisites aimed to achieve success of the forthcoming Arab Summit, scheduled to be held in Baghdad next year.” “The visit of Egyptian Foreign Minister, Ahmed Abul-Gheit, for Iraq at this time has a great importance, being the first visit of an Arab official to Baghdad after the formation of the new Iraqi government, to extend the Egyptian Government’s congratulations, led by President Hosni Mubarak for Iraq’s President, Jalal Talabani, Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki and the Iraqi government.  UA (A) / SKH 1
