Leader of underground “Islamic State of Iraq” arrested in Wassit, south Iraq:

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: A leader of the underground “Islamic State of Iraq” has been detained by southern Iraq Wassit‘s Rapid Deployment Forces (RDF) on Wednesday, the RDF’s Commander in Wassit Province said. “The Interior Ministry’s RDF has managed to arrest Haider Muslim Mansouri, a leader of the so-called “Islamic State of Iraq,” in an assault on his house in Seweira town, some 135 kms to the north of Kut, the center of Wassit Province,” Colonel Aziz al-Imara told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said Mansouri’s detention took place “according to intelligence information and according to a warrant arrest by the Iraqi Judiciary,” adding that “Mansouri is under investigation in a detention center, after which his case would be raised to the Investigation Judge.” The RDF is part of the Iraqi forces, carrying out detention measures against defendents charged with terrorism and outlaws, who are carrying arms against the Iraqi government forces. Noteworthy is that the RDF had managed to arrest another leader of the so-called “Islamic State of Iraq,” last Saturday in al-Khanasa area, some 15 kms to the north of Sewaira town.
