Three Production units in Iraq’s Beiji Refinery set on fire:

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Three production units in north-central Iraq ’s Beiji Oil Refinery had been set on fire in an armed attack, thing that led to the hampering of its activity, a source in the Oil Installations Protection Force said on Saturday.   “A group of armed men have attacked the North Refinery, the largest refinery in Beiji on Saturday, killing a guard, planting five explosive charges in three of its production units, that blew off 15 minutes later, setting all the three units on fire,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency.   He said the explosion had also killed an engineer and seriously wounded a technician, along with setting a huge fire to the refinery, completely hampering the work of the refinery, that produces 50,000 barrels of refined oil per day.   He added that the security forces have imposed a curfew on the town of Beiji , in the aftermath of the attack, whilst a media source in Salahaddin Province told IraqiNews.com news agency that its Governor, Ahmed Abdullah, headed to the refinery leading an official and security delegation to Inspect the attacked refinery.   PT / SKH 368
