Iraqi PM meets with UN Secretary-General at Cairo Summit for Peace
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at the Cairo Summit for Peace in Egypt to discuss urgent issues involving the occupied Palestinian territories. The summit emphasized Iraq’s commitment to tackle the current issue in the area and its promise to give those impacted much-needed help.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani stressed the necessity of putting an end to what he described as “Zionist aggression” in the occupied Palestinian territory during their meeting. He emphasized the need for a lasting resolution to the protracted war, one that places a high priority on peace, stability, and justice for all parties concerned.
The catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza, where the local Palestinian population has been struggling with chronic shortages of basic essentials including food, clean water, and medical supplies, was a major topic of discussion amongst them. The necessity for prompt action to lessen Gazans’ suffering and safeguard their access to humanitarian supplies was emphasized by Al-Sudani.
