UAE to be represented on highest level in Baghdad Summit, Minister says
BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) shall be represented in the forthcoming Baghdad Arab Summit, on the highest level, its Foreign Minister, Abdullah Bin Zayid Al-Nehayan said on Thursday. Al-Nehayan described the Summit’s holding in Baghdad as more significant than any previous Arab Summit. “The relations between the two countries have development highly, and we want to boost our communications with the Iraqis, here in Baghdad and with the Iraqi community in the UAE,” the Minister told a joint news conference with his Iraqi Counterpart, Hoshiar Zibary, adding that “the UAE shall be represented on highest level in Baghdad Arab Summit, as the relations between both countries have developed greatly, apart from fact that the Summit’s holding in Baghdad has a highest significance than any previous Arab Summit.” The UAE Foreign Minister, now on a visit to Baghdad, also said: “We shall have a cultural, scientific and sport communication, on the highest level with the Social Society organizations in Iraq,” expressing “necessity for facilitating the activity of Iraqi and UAE businessmen, and to discuss the idea of forming a Council for Iraq-UAE Businessmen.” The Iraqi Foreign Minister, Hoshiar Zibary, on his part, said: “the holding of the Arab Summit shall be independent than the current events in some Arab states,” pointing that there “exists a decision taken before to hold the Summit.” “A technical delegation by the Arab League is in Baghdad now, to get acquainted with the activity achieved regarding the preparations to hold the next Arab Summit here,” he said, adding that “the delegation had expressed satisfaction for the continuation of activity and preparations to hold the Summit.” The next Arab Summit is scheduled to convene in Baghdad next March, whilst Iraq had announced a broad plan to rehabilitate the Iraqi capital’s streets, five-star hotels and other facilities, to receive the Summit.
