Iraq’s Deputy PM calls for activation of Iraq-Norway Agreement

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq‘s Prime Minister, Saleh al-Mutlaq, has called during a meeting with Norway’s Ambassador to Baghdad, Peter Ulberg, on Monday for the activation of the agreement, signed between Iraq and Norway within the framework of the oil development programs and the expansion of the training of Iraqi cadres. “Both sides have discussed means for furthering development of bilateral relations and boosting economic, trade and service cooperation between Baghdad and Oslo, in such a way that serves the two friendly peoples,” Mutlaq said.  “It is significant to activate the agreement, signed between Iraqi and Norwegian Foreign Ministries last year, according to which an accord was signed for joint cooperation in the field of oil development programs and training of Iraqi cadres in environment, financial and oil fields,” he reiterated. The Norwegian Ambassador expressed “hope that joint relations between the Republic of Iraq and the Norwegian Kingdom at the current phase, expecially along with the success of the political forces to form a government of national-partnership, representing all components of the Iraqi people.” SKH (TP)/SR 2168
